BENTON HARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — UPDATE: Police in Benton Harbor are reporting that a murder suspect has reportedly committed suicide.
Previously, police were investigating the shooting death of 29-year-old Quintina Jeffries, who was found dead earlier this week.
Now, police say that a suspect in the case, Samuel Brown, has committed suicide as of Tuesday night. Brown reportedly killed himself after police executed a search warrant on his property.
The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety issued a statement in a press release:
“Detectives have a few details still to wrap up. However, this incident started as a domestic assault that ended in the senseless death of Quintina Jeffries. There is no evidence that relates this to illegal drugs or gang violence. This was an isolated incident.”
Jeffries leaves behind an 8-year-old son.
