KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo area business was named one of the best employers for women nationwide by an online career site.
The webservice Comparably released their list of “50 Best companies for women to work for in 2019” on Thursday, December 12th.
The rankings used an internal survey which asked users a variety of workplace culture questions about fair compensation, work-life balance, perks and benefits, and career opportunities among other factors.
Comparably reported that Styrker made the list because of generous vacation and maternity leave policies, as well as relatively good prospects for career advancement.
The medical-device maker, which is headquartered in Kalamazoo, dominates a large sector of the orthopaedic, medical, and surgical technology market in the U.S. . The company’s most recent public earnings report in 2017 show it pulled in an annual revenue of $12.44 billion dollars.
A large portion of the companies represented in Comparably’s Top 50 list are either start-ups, or well-established tech giants like Google or Facebook.
