BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — As the City of Battle Creek prepares for a President Donald Trump rally at Kellogg Arena Wednesday afternoon, a protesting group is also preparing to march.
The protesting group was formed by two different groups who later combined their plans into one.
Police in Battle Creek say that the protesting group will be allowed to peacefully organize, provided they do not enter the barricaded area of Kellogg Arena.
Protesting groups are also prohibited from blocking sidewalks, businesses and roads. Organizers behind the Battle Creek protest say there shouldn’t be any compliance issues.
The protest will begin at 5 p.m. with a meetup at the Sojourner Truth Monument, with plans to head to Wave Square at 5:45. Wave Square is located one block from Kellogg Arena.
The Trump rally is expected to draw thousands of attendees, with many road closures planned.
