LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel wants regulators to cut the rate hike request of Consumers Energy by 61%.
She filed testimony to the Michigan Public Service Commission this week urging them to cut the $240-million rate increase request to around $94-million, a reduction of over $146-million.
Her office found several instances within the rate hike application where they say Consumers Energy “inflated capital spending projections and included for themselves unreasonable profit margins.”
