KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Kalamazoo has lifted a boil water advisory that was issued over the weekend. Citizens can now freely use water for drinking and other purposes in the affected areas.

Kalamazoo City officials have issued a boil water advisory after a water main break on Dearborn Avenue Saturday. The advisory is expected to be lifted within 72 hours on December 24th, Christmas Eve.
Officials said the advisory is issued for all water intended for drinking or any other consumption uses within the affected area, including:
– Dearborn Avenue – Includes the northeast corner of Dearborn Avenue and Cooper Avenue, the southeast corner of Dearborn Avenue and Washburn Avenue. It also includes the northeast and southwest corners of Dearborn Avenue and Ira Avenue.
– Washburn Avenue – From Dearborn Avenue (northern boundary) to Charles Avenue (southern boundary), both sides of the street. It does NOT include the northwest and northeast corners of Washburn Avenue and Charles Avenue.
– Ira Avenue – Only the northwest corner of Ira Avenue and Dearborn Avenue.
– Lum Avenue – Only the northwest corner of Lum Avenue and Dearborn Avenue.
Residents in the affected area are urdged to use bottled water for consumptive purposes or boil their tap water for two minutes prior to use for drinking or other ingestion.
