CHARLESTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – One person is hospitalized with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries after a crash early Saturday morning in Charleston Township.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash just after 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Michigan Avenue and South 40th Street.
The vehicle was eastbound on East Michigan when the driver didn’t stop at the T intersection, left the road, crashed through a guardrail, went down the embankment and eventually came to a stop upside down in the small ravine.
The driver was sent to the hospital to be treated for their injuries, and the passenger declined medical treatment at the scene.
Deputies say speed and alcohol may both be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
No names have been released.
