KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A collective of Kalamazoo area youth leaders and community advocates will host the 3rd Annual Emerging Leaders Summit to End Gun Violence later this month.
Described as a powerful, youth-centered gathering designed to uplift voices, foster healing, and inspire action across the community, the summit will take place Friday, April 17 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Douglass Community Association, with young people from across Kalamazoo County invited.
Organizers say this year’s summit will provide a safe and supportive space for youth to come together to share their lived experiences, participate in liberation circles, and build meaningful connections rooted in healing and community care in relation to gun violence.
Gift cards will be issued to the first 50 youth that register. Youth interested in attending can register by contacting Genesis Griffin at genesis@kydnet.org.
