SOUTH HAVEN (WKZO AM/FM) – The city of South Haven has initiated a survey for adult residents to look at the safety needs of the city and identify what ways to meet those needs supported by the community,
The possibilities could include the possible return of lifeguards to the city’s most popular beaches or fines for swimmers caught in the water during dangerous conditions.
The online survey is open to adult residents of South Haven currently in the United States. It asks about which beaches residents go to in the summer, and whether they think the city should hire lifeguards.
The survey also asks residents to grade the work performed by the city’s police and fire departments. The survey comes as a result of the large number of drownings and water rescues in Lake Michigan, including incidents along the shore in South Haven.
