KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A 25-year-old Kalamazoo man is welcoming in the New Year from a cell at the Kalamazoo County Jail after he was arrested for home invasion.
At 4:00 Sunday morning, Public Safety officers were dispatched to a home in the 2100 block of Luella Street following a 9-1-1 call that someone had just been in their home.
They told the officers that the suspect had fled to another home on the same block. With the help of Metro SWAT, a perimeter was set up around that home and after two hours of negotiations, the suspect surrendered without incident.
Formal charges are pending.
