PLAINWELL, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Saturday evening house fire in Plainwell has killed one person.
Martin Fire Department officials say the smoke and flames were spotted from the home in the 400 block of North Main Street around 8:30 p.m., and they notified Plainwell Public Safety.
Firefighters found heavy black smoke coming from the front of the home and a bedroom in the rear of the house was fully engulfed in flames.
The victim was pulled from the home, and their identity is being withheld pending the notification of their relatives.
Plainwell Public Safety and the Michigan State Police Fire Investigation Unit are investigating the cause.
