KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A man who crashed into a Cooper Township home, and then allegedly tried to break into it, Wednesday remains in the Kalamazoo County Jail after being charged with five new counts.
33-year-old William Switzer, who was already out on bond for a previous meth charge, now also faces two counts of breaking and entering, a resisting charge, a reckless driving count and a new meth charge.
Deputies say after he was confronted by a homeowner with a shotgun, drove his SUV into a snowbank and holed up in a neighbor’s home, where after a three hour stand-off, was taken into custody by SWAT who had to go in to the home to get him. Bond was set at $10,000.
