KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kazoo 48 Hour Film Festival is returning this month for its 7th year.
Organizers say there will be bigger prizes available for the best films submitted.
Kazoo 48 gives each team forty-eight hours to complete a 1-6 minute short film.
Once completed, the films will be judged by a group of local talent, with prizes awarded for the Best Use of an assigned item as well as their signature gold engraved kazoo for the Best Films in the Amateur and Professional category.
People will have 48 hours to work with an assigned genre, line of dialogue, character, location, and prop within their film, and it needs to be between one-and-six-minutes long.
The Kazoo 48 Hour Film Festival is the largest filmmaker event in southwest Michigan.
To celebrate their seventh year in action, Kazoo 48 has launched a new tongue-in-cheek parody of the classic “007” logo, which will be available on stickers at the event itself.
Filmmakers will not only have the opportunity to see their film on the big screen, they will also be given a swag bag and a chance to take home a prize.
It begins March 27th at 6 p.m. with a submission deadline of March 29th at 6 p.m.
Select finished films will be showcased in a screening and awards event at GQT Kalamazoo 10 on April 23rd.
All teams can register now at kazoo48.com
