KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Detectives now believe a pink shoe could be key to solving what they are calling the homicide of a 16-year-old from Grand Rapids.
The body of Mujey Dumbuya, a student at East Kentwood High was found by hikers Sunday along a trail in a wooded area in the 800 block of North Prairie.
She was fully clothed, complete with a pink Cinderella T-shirt, except for that missing pink Nike tennis shoe. The cause of death remains a mystery and tests are being conducted.
She was reported as a runaway on Thursday the 25th after she failed to return home from school.
Public Safety is now reaching out to the public for any information they may have that might explain how the teenager ended up dead in a remote spot in a Kalamazoo Neighborhood.
Anyone who may have information is asked to call Kalamazoo Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
