KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Public Safety has arrested three people after random gunfire near Ada and Woodbury, one of the most dangerous intersections in Kalamazoo.
They were first called out around 3:15 pm Wednesday after a report of a gunfight at the corner near the North Pole Party Store.
When PSO’s arrived, everyone had fled. But one officer stayed nearby to observe the corner and about 45-minutes later, a white van appeared on Ada St. with the arm of a person holding a gun extending out of a window.
Then multiple shots were fired.
A police pursuit followed and ended when the van turned down Poplar Place, which is a dead end street.
Two armed males abandoned the van and fled on foot.
One of them tried to ditch his gun in a dumpster. The other was captured with his gun.
Both were booked into the County Jail for multiple gun felonies, fleeing and eluding and other charges.
No one was apparently hit by the gunfire and no motive for the shootings was offered in the press release.
