KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The city of Kalamazoo is looking at urban density to help tackle the housing crisis in the community.
The city commission got a look last night at a study that would reimagine business corridors and emphasize urban density outside the core of the city.
The study looks at underutilized commercial properties and large, outdated parking lots to create single-family and multi-family homes.
The plan will become part of the Imagine Kalamazoo 2035 master plan when it is finalized.
