WAYLAND (WKZO AM/FM) — A Facebook mix up in Allegan County had firefighters jumping to the rescue from about 800 miles away on Saturday.
A woman in Wayland Michigan who didn’t have access to a phone posted to the Wayland Fire Department Facebook page in a panic saying her son was choking.
But little did she know she accidentally posted to Wayland Massachusetts Fire Department.
Officials in Massachusetts knew something was wrong when they did not recognize the address.
They then quickly called first responders in Michigan, and the 16 year old boy was saved.
