KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The American Red Cross shelter for flood victims in Kalamazoo is closing this evening.
The organization still has shelters open in Berrien Springs and Three Rivers to help those impacted by record flooding in southwest Michigan over the past week.
The Kalamazoo shelter at the Douglas Community Association will close at 7 p.m.
Sunday night it only attracted one person.
The Red Cross will continue humanitarian disaster relief efforts across the area, and will be asked by Kalamazoo Township to set up a recovery operation in the Lakewood area, where officials say 110 homes were impacted by the flooding.
