ALLENDALE (WKZO AM/FM) — A fraternity at Grand Valley State University won’t be on a sunny beach for their spring break.
20 fraternity brothers of Alpha Tau Omega at GVSU will kick off their 8 day “Walks Hard, Many Steps for MS” event, and there is a long road ahead.
The men will walk 160 miles in 8 days raising money and awareness for multiple sclerosis research with 100% of their proceeds going to the Michigan chapter of The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Philanthropy Chair of ATO Matt Bertoia says the walk will begin Friday in Traverse City and the brothers will end with a celebration on Grand Valley’s Allendale campus on March 10th.
The Kappa Lambda chapter has raised over $200,000 for The MS Society over the past 6 years, and they hope to give about $55,000 this year.
