PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Currently only Delta and American Airlines fly out of Kalamazoo, but beginning in late April, United Airlines has announced four flights daily to O’Hare International Airport in Chicago.
That’s good news for local travelers, businesses, and the local tourist industry.
Portage city council member Nicole Miller says it gives local firms easier access to cities they currently can’t get to without making multiple stopovers.
And more direct links to international ports of call.
She says it’s also good news for leisure travelers and sports fans.
O’Hare is the second busiest airport in the world and the most connected in the U.S. with flights to 214 communities.
United flights in and out of Kalamazoo begin April 30th. Tickets go on sale Thursday.
