HAMILTON, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 28, 2026) – The Peanut Butter Drive is underway in Allegan County, but under new leadership.
The 10th annual effort to collect this food staple for many began last Saturday, on National Peanut Butter Day, and runs through February 28th. Donations of jars of peanut butter and nut butters, along with monetary contributions, are still be accepted, but now at just one source.
At the beginning of this month, Hamilton-based non-profit Harvest for Christ assumed responsibility for operating the Allegan County Food Pantry Collaborative from the Allegan County Community Foundation. It was a natural evolution process, according to the Foundation’s Community Impact Manager Lauren Hunt-VanderPloeg.
Tracy Brower is the executive director for Hungry for Christ, and her organization will receive an additional $24,000 from the ACCF over the next two years to help ensure a smooth transition, and the Food Pantry Collaborative fund will still be operated by the ACCF.
