DETROIT, MI — This is the annual news that mid-Michigan retailers always eagerly await. General Motors said on Tuesday Jan. 27, that the 2025 payout for UAW-represented workers will be close to $10,500, the lowest figure for eligible UAW workers in recent years.
In addition, the Detroit automaker reported fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 earnings. About 47,000 workers should be eligible, according to the company. GM workers across mid-Michigan help stimulate the local economy by spending that profit sharing money locally, according to analysts.
That number of eligible workers marks in increase from a year ago when about 45,000 U.S. hourly workers received a profit-sharing check last year.
