KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Nurses in the Kalamazoo area are pushing for patient safety.
Nurses of the Borgess Staff Nurse Council, patients, community members, and some lawmakers will gather outside of Borgess Medical Center Monday from noon until 2pm to fight back against staff cuts.
Health officials say St. Louis based, Ascension Health is slashing nurse staff levels at other hospitals due to so-called, “efficiency cuts.”
Kalamazoo’s State Representative John Hoadley will be in attendance and nurses who are not on the clock will be on the sidewalk in front of the medical center wearing red, holding signs, and advocating for their patients.
