KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo County’s board of commissioners is looking into 11 recommended projects as part of their master plan update.
Among the work would be upgrading the office of the Kalamazoo County Sheriff and the Kalamazoo County Jail in the next five years.
Work on a new county administration building across the street from where the current one sits is already underway.
The sheriff’s office and jail part of the project would cost nearly $150-million.
County commission chairwoman Jen Strebs says the work is needed, even if she is reluctant to spend the money for it.
