KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and events are being held throughout the state to remember the slain civil rights leader.
At Western Michigan University, chair of MLK Jr. celebrations, Dr. Sherrie Fuller, says they will have a teach-in during the afternoon.
Tonight, the featured speaker will be Dr. Cornell West, a former independent presidential candidate, an author and philosopher.
Fuller says we have to figure out how to love through the storm and not hate people because of their differences.
