LANSING, MI — With no let up in the cold weather this week, the City of Lansing has issued a Code Blue winter weather emergency plan. Code Blue allows local shelters to temporarily increase capacity and extend hours. The Code Blue is in effect from from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. each day.
Temperatures across mid-Michigan today are expected to fall into the low teens. Lows tonight will be in the single digits with wind chills below zero.
In addition, the Capital Area Transportation Authority will provide free rides to warming shelters for those in need. If you need shelter, call 211. CATA will provide free rides to warming centers.
