HASTINGS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – An anti-ICE demonstration was held Sunday night in Hastings after the deadly shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis last week by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.
Ed Szumowski of MI Barry County Indivisible says ICE had other and better options that to shoot her when she was trying to drive away from agents.
Her shooting was the catalyst for the protest, but people say they also gathered to remember everyone whose lives have been impacted by ICE.
The group will also hold a protest at noon on Saturday, January 17th outside the Barry County Courthouse.
