ALLEGAN COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A probation violator from Indiana, who led police on a two- state, multi-county chase that went on for hours Wednesday, is in custody facing a list of new charges.
44-year-old Anthony Blatz made a run for the Michigan Border when he was first chased by police in Indiana,entering and leaving Cass County Deputies behind, and State Troopers in Van Buren County also broke off the chase for safety concerns. Blatz struck another car near Lawton and he and his wife fled into the woods.

And when troopers spotted and stopped that car, Blatz allegedly pushed the driver out of the car and fled again. At M-40 and 102nd Avenue in Allegan County, Troopers used a Pit Maneuver, nudging his back end, sending the car into a spin.
State Police Lt. Chuck Christiansen says they took Blatz and his wife into custody. A third person in the car was questioned but not arrested.
They will likely face multiple fleeing and eluding and resisting charges, perhaps charged with leaving the scene of an accident in Van Buren County and crimes in several different jurisdictions. While many lives were put at risk, no one was hurt.
