DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – General Motors is laying off over 1,100 workers from Factory Zero in Hamtramck.
The cuts are permanent according to UAW Local 22, which has lost half of its membership as a result.
The layoffs are due to changes in electric vehicle demand.
