KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo’s Bronson Birthplace welcomed the first baby born in west Michigan in 2026 with the birth of Timothy Kilmartin at 12:19 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
The first baby born in Grand Rapids was Bentley Adsit, who was born at 1:35 a.m. on January 1st, and Bronson Birthplace in Battle Creek welcomed their first baby at 5:13 a.m. but have not revealed his or his parents names.
Holland Hospital’s first baby was Hailey Joe, and she was born at 5:41 a.m.
The first baby born in the entire state of Michigan was Julia Flemming, arriving at 12:03 a.m. on January 1st at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township.
She weighed 7-pounds-13-ounces and has two big sisters.
All of the babies and their mothers are doing well.
