KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Monday marks Oberon Day in Michigan, the first day that the seasonal wheat beer is available at stores and on-tap at restaurants, tap rooms and taverns.
It is meant to be sipped while enjoying the sun or a major league baseball game. It’s now become a regional thing, as Bell’s Brewery has expanded its distribution network for what is one of their biggest annually selling craft brews.
There were a number of midnight keg-tappings, and launch parties will take place around the Midwest, leading up to opening day of baseball.
Sweetwater’s Donut Mill is also bringing back its special Oberon-themed donuts, with frosting that matches the colors on the label.
