CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — A Pennfield Township family lost everything in a weekend fire, including their two dogs.
Tara and Nigel Penney and their two children were not at home when the fire began. They got word from their neighbor, and they rushed home in time to watch fire crews put out the last flames Saturday evening.
The first crews on the scene say the single story home on Gorsline Road was fully engulfed when they arrived on the scene.
They are still trying to determine the cause.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist the family, which is also receiving immediate aid from the Red Cross.
