Attorney General Nessel to intervene in Consumers Energy’s gas rate hike request

LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel will intervene in Consumers Energy’s natural gas rate hike request.

The utility is asking the permission of the Michigan Public Service Commission to increase rates by $240 million a year.

That would be a nearly ten percent increase and comes three months after Consumers increased rates for natural gas by $157.5 million.
