PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The annual “Stuff a Fire Truck” donation drive is coming up Sunday, December 14th in Portage.
Portage Public Safety will collect donations of non-perishable food items, home and personal care products, paper goods and laundry supplies, baby care items, and cash donations for Twelve Baskets Food Pantry.
The donation drive will be at Sam’s Club at 7021 South Westnedge Avenue from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Twelve Baskets is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2014 to serve the communities of Portage, Schoolcraft, Vicksburg, Three Rivers, and the surrounding areas.
It was originally established as a food pantry and expanded in 2018 with the opening of a Community Store to help meet clothing, hygiene, and household needs.
Twelve Baskets Food Pantry now provides perishable and non-perishable groceries to about 400 families each week during its four monthly Distribution Days, which is three times the number served in 2020.
