BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A lack of potential jurors is pushing the trial of a Calhoun County gynecologist back to mid-2026.
61-year-old Mark Walker is charged with three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, two charges of indecent exposure, and one count of first-degree CSC.
Jury selection started yesterday, but 11 people missed jury duty and several other potential jurors told the judge they knew Walker.
Judge Sarah Lincoln then delayed the trial.
Prosecutors say allegations against Walker date back to 2002 and patients accuse him of unwanted touching, groping, and digital penetration when they saw him for pelvic and breast exams from 2015 to 2019.
He is also expected to be retried on fourth and second-degree CSC charges after a deadlocked jury in July resulted in a mistrial. Walker was accused of sexually assaulting two former student interns.
Jury selection will start again in May or June.
