PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — He may have been more con man than contractor, that according to Portage Police who have arrested and charged Michael Andrew Miller, the owner of Pristine Decks and Design with three felony charges for taking money for work he never performed.
Portage police say they have been in contact with seven victims who made down payment on projects that were either started and never finished, or never begun at all.
The seven victims have lost at least a quarter million dollars, paying as much as $19.000 to 25-000 dollar down payments for work that wasn’t done.
The 46-year-old Miller was arraigned Friday on two counts of felony false pretenses and one count of fraudulent use of a builder trust fund. He is free on bond.
