PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – If you aren’t in the holiday spirit already, here’s an event to help you kickstart it. Portage will hold its annual tree lighting ceremony this Saturday evening.
The event will begin at the City Center area to flip the switch on all the decorations.
Here is Mayor Patricia Randall.
At Celery Flats, Santa will be on hand to hear children’s Christmas wishes, or there will be a place to put it in writing in the one-room schoolhouse. There will be performers, ice sculpturing and milk and cookies too.
It gets underway at 6 p.m. near Portage City Hall and the library.
