KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Residents of downtown Kalamazoo may notice they have been invaded this week by very young adults. Here is Downtown Kalamazoo Incorporated’s Jane Ghosh.
Model United Nations advisor Clifton Fraley Burgett of Kalamazoo Central High School says 500 students from all over the Midwest will be in town Wednesday through Saturday, addressing world issues at the Radisson.
Kalamazoo students Ava, Otto and Sophia will be attending as representatives from a variety of countries, tackling big issues.
Mayor Dave Anderson says he has been to a few model UNs and notes that they would be very good behavior models for adults these days.
Participating students develop crucial communication and public speaking skills, learn about the world around them, and it looks good on a college application.
