BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The city of Battle Creek is reminding residents that the last yard waste pickup is this week for 2025.
Republic Services will pick up yard waste on customers’ regular pickup days through Friday, December 5th.
Yard waste will start to be picked up again on Monday, April 6th, 2026.
If people still have leaves they need to get rid of before then, the city says you can hire a private contractor for leaf collection, you could mow the leaves with your lawn mower and leave them as natural mulch for the yard, you can compost the leaves, or haul them in bulk to the drop-off compost site, Brice Pit.
Officials also remind residents that burning leaves in the city of Battle Creek is illegal, even if you have a burn permit.
