PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — Portage Public Safety are investigating a hit and run driver who they say was under the influence of drugs when he caused two separate collisions on Thursday.
They say the 23-year-old from Plainwell struck a motorcyclist at Lovers Lane and East Centre Avenue just before 7:00 p.m. and did not stop.
Witnesses told officers that a driver in a silver Lincoln was responsible.
Just minutes later, emergency units were dispatched to a second crash scene at Romence Road and Sears Drive and the same silver Lincoln was involved.
Police say the driver ran a red light and struck an SUV driven by a 75-year-old woman from Kalamazoo.
The suspect, and his two victims were all taken to area emergency rooms with non-life threatening injuries.
The at-fault driver is expected to face arrest for a list of charges once he is discharged from the hospital.
