PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — Portage Police have found the alleged hit and run driver that sent a white Audi through the front of Hoffman’s Party Store on South Westnedge Avenue last night.
It happened along the busy shopping strip at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Sgt. Brian Mayhew says the driver of a red pickup drifted off Westnedge and into the parking lot in the 5,900 block of Westnedge.
The truck struck the Audi, forcing it backwards through the plate glass window, and into the store.
The truck then fled the scene.
Two women in the sedan were transported to the hospital for treatement of non-life threatening injuries.
Early Friday morning it was reported that they found the red pickup, identified the driver, and determined that alcohol was involved.
