KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Two more handguns have been taken off Kalamazoo’s streets, including one that had the serial numbers filed off.
Public Safety responded to the 1400 block of North Church on reports of shots fired.
They got a detailed description of the gunman, the car he was driving and the other people in the car from the 911 call around 10:20 a.m. Sunday.
When officers arrived, the subjects were still there.
Capt. Shannon Bagley says a 26-year-old refused to obey commands and was arrested for obstructing officers.
A search of the car turned up a revolver that was believed to be involved in the random gunshots, and a semi-automatic that had been altered to disguise its history. They also found spent shell casings.
The 26-year-old was also booked on multiple gun felonies.
Alcohol and additional gun charges may be filed against the others.
