LANSING, MI — The Michigan House of Representatives has passed a COVID-19 relief bill that was approved by the Senate last week. The House passed the measure this morning that has 220-million dollars to extend unemployment benefits, 64-million in small business relief, and 45-million in payments for workers affected by the pandemic.
The nearly half-billion dollar package also provides 75-million dollars for hospitals and healthcare workers, 22-million for increased COVID-19 testing, and 57-million dollars for vaccine distribution.
House Speaker Lee Chatfield released a statement saying lawmakers were listening and looking for ways to help and “the best way to help people is to follow the science and safely and securely open Michigan’s school and businesses.”
