GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO AM/FM) — The final conspirator in a large methamphetamine ring operating in Kalamazoo and Van Buren County has been convicted by a federal jury.
Michael Neeley of Kalamazoo insisted on a jury trial, while most of the other members of the ring cut deals with the U.S. Attorney’s office.
The investigation to break up the ring was called Operation Crystal Misery, and combined the forces of the DEA, SWET and KVET. The raids took place last December.
The ring leaders would receive large shipments of meth mailed or sent UPS from Arizona and redistribute it to their dealers scattered around the two county area. Farrell dealt with customers in the Kalamazoo area, also selling marijuana. He will be sentenced in September and faces 10-years to life.
