KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Michigan Department of Transportation and contractor Hoffman Brothers Incorporated have wrapped up work on West Main Street between Drake Road and US-131 in Kalamazoo.
The project started March 31 and cost just under $8 million.
A lane was added to westbound West Main Street from Drake Road to US-131, the Exit 38A from southbound US-131 to West Main was merged with Exit 38B, and the Maple Hill Drive intersection was rebuilt.
Crews also replaced storm water drainage and upgraded the traffic signal at 10th Street to include a left-turn phase.
MDOT says utility relocation complications delayed the completion of the work, which had been scheduled to be wrapped up at the end of August.
There is still some work being completed but MDOT says those projects won’t impact traffic.
