KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo area residents with the reddest hair, greenest eyes, and most freckles are heading downtown this weekend for Kalamazoo’s Irish Fest.
The 18th annual event takes place at Old Dog Tavern Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 a.m.
Marketing Director Brian Abbott says they’ll have the fan favorites like the band Whiskey Before Breakfast and the Quinn Irish Dancers, but also some new performances as well.
Admission is $6.00 on Friday from 4:30-6:00 p.m. and $8.00 til midnight. Saturday admission is $10.00 all day.
They’ll also have their reddest hair, greenest eyes, and freckles contest as well as a potato drop competition, raffles, food, and of course beer.
