COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 22-year-old Battle Creek man is in the Kalamazoo County Jail awaiting arraignment on armed robbery and carrying a concealed weapon charges.
He was arrested by county sheriff’s deputies around 6:30 Friday morning near the intersection of Gull Road and Nazareth Road after he allegedly stole a bicycle from a younger male shortly before.
The theft happened at Gull Road and Sprinkle Road, and the suspect told the victim he had a gun and forcefully took the bike.
The suspect tossed the gun when deputies arrived, and that was recovered.
He is also held on outstanding warrants from Calhoun County. No names have been released.
