KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A father and son from Kalamazoo have been formally charged with a list of federal crimes for helping undocumented aliens become documented Americans using phony I.D.
Eddie and Michael Balderramas are free on bond but could get serious time in a Federal Penitentiary if convicted on all the counts.
They were arrested last Thursday morning after offering instant U.S. citizenship through an undercover operation at their home at 2110 Westnedge Avenue
The specific charges are harboring an illegal alien, misusing Social Security numbers, aggravated identity theft and conspiracy.
In addition, Michelle Martinez-Marte is charged with the same counts for allegedly being their east coast agent from Boston, finding the customers, and obtaining some of the purloined identification.
