KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Wednesday, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office submitted charges for a man suspected in the recent death of a Galesburg woman.
The Sheriff’s Office submitted charges of Open Murder and Felony Firearm for 24-year-old Chad Michael White in the death of 28-year-old Amber Marie Walker.
Previously, police had reported Tuesday that a person of interest was in custody on unrelated charges following the discovery of her body in Richland Township.
White was arraigned Wednesday afternoon and continues to be held in the Kalamazoo County Jail with no bond.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim in a death now being treated as a homicide, WWMT reported Tuesday.
Previously, the Sheriff’s Office had reported the discovery of a body Monday at 35th Street and EF Avenue in Richland Township near Three Lakes. That case is now being investigated as a homicide, according to reports.
The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Amber Walker from Galesburg. Police say her body was found in a lake.
There is currently no further information regarding a cause of death. However, a person of interest is now in custody on unrelated charges. That person has not been identified at this time.
