KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – With a Heat Advisory from 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and Heat Index Values of 99 to 104 expected today, Kalamazoo area organizations are gearing up to provide cooling centers.
Ministry with Community, Portage Zhang Senior Center, and the Portage District Library are all open to the public during their regular operating hours. The Kalamazoo Gospel Mission will open as a cooling center if temperatures reach 95 degrees.
Christian Neighbors at 282 12th Street in Plainwell will also be opening a cooling center from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
