JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County Deputies are looking for a hit and run driver who crashed into an Indiana couple and then ran away into the woods and cornfields, leaving his disabled Jeep Wrangler behind.
Investigators say the Wrangler crossed the centerline on Dailey Road and struck a vehicle operated by William Neff, causing minor injuries to him and his wife, Ruth.
An extensive search of the area woods and cornfields with a couple of K-9 trackers failed to result in an arrest.
Seatbelts and airbags may have minimized the injuries in the Neff vehicle.
Deputies will be following up, looking for the owner of the Jeep.
